Ready to Create Bold Textures? Start with the Right Canvas!

While it might be tempting to cut corners on canvas quality, I highly recommend investing in a good one – even if you’re just starting out. Cheaper canvases can be tricky to work with: they often warp, require additional layers of gesso, and don’t hold up well to the heavy texture we’ll be using. Instead, I suggest opting for a Level 3 canvas like the "Artist’s Loft" brand that is triple-primed and ready to paint, with sturdy stretcher bars that ensure it won’t warp over time. You can find the "Artist Loft" canvas at your local Michaels Craft Store or on the Amazon link below, and have it shipped to you directly.

I recommend this durable glass palette, crafted from 1/8” tempered glass for strength and safety. It includes a set of four corner guards for added protection and traction.
When it’s time to clean up, dried acrylic paint peels off easily, allowing you to save those colorful “skins” for our Post-Palette Art series. This palette helps you keep all those amazing leftover paint scrapings for future creative projects!

Do You Have An Easel?
If you’re serious about painting, it’s worth investing in a quality easel! Having the ability to easily adjust the height of your canvas will save your back and make your painting experience much more comfortable. I also recommend choosing an easel with casters, so you can move it around effortlessly. Here’s one that I personally recommend:
