Frequently Asked Questions
Will DabblePaints make my paintings look better?
Yes, and it really comes down to the paint itself. Thick-body acrylics hold texture in a way thinner paints simply can’t. If your paint keeps spreading flat, that’s not a talent issue , it’s usually the paint. DabblePaints were created to stay thick, creamy, and hold those beautiful peaks and palette knife strokes right where you place them on the canvas.

How is this different from paint I can get at craft store?
Craft store paint is designed to be affordable, not to perform. It’s thinner, lower-pigment, and formulated to spread easily, which means it loses texture. DabblePaints is a thick-body acrylic formulated specifically for palette knife techniques and impasto-style work. It holds peaks, resists spreading flat, and stays smooth on the knife. That’s a formulation difference, not a marketing claim.

I’m not a professional. Is this paint too advanced for me?
Not at all. This paint was actually created for everyday painters, especially people who are still learning and growing. Thick-body paint is often easier to work with for palette knife painting because it stays where you place it and holds texture beautifully instead of spreading flat.

How is this different from those "expensive" brands?
DabblePaints delivers professional-grade thick-body performance, the same consistency, the same pigment density, the same texture-holding behavior without the professional-grade price tag. Designed by an artist who knew firsthand that the cost of supplies should never be the reason someone stops creating.

I’ve tried other art supplies before. What makes these different?
That’s exactly why DabblePaints were created. After years of teaching, Jennifer saw students struggling not with technique, but with materials that simply couldn’t support the kind of texture and layering they were trying to create.

What’s the difference between the 4oz and 16oz jars?
The 4oz jars in this bundle are great for learning the colors and experimenting with mixing. Once you find your favorites, and you will — the 16oz jars are available separately and are more economical for regular use. Jennifer’s personal preference is the 16oz: easy lid, generous size, and it lasts.

I love using the dabble paints because of the creaminess of the paint. It makes the colors come alive, and it is easier to paint a fulfilling painting. I am continuing to practice my painting skills and using the dabble paints. Thank you for sharing all your ideas and techniques to becoming more proficient in my painting skills. Sincerely, Paula
This paint is smooth, creamy and I actually waste less because it mixes and goes farther than the old paint that I used as it got dryer as I opened and closed it.
Let’s dabble paint stays soft and creamy clear to the end! Thank you Matt and Jen for all the things you do to inspire and create for us! You are well loved by all of us!
I was never a fan of mixing my own greens until I started using the Let’s Dabble brand. The range of colors you can get is amazing! The colors are pure and not greyed out as you get with other brands.
I noticed last month that we were using a lot of green. I did not want to run out. I looked at all my green paints that I have. This green is the best by far! So thick and full of body. I love it!
The Phthalo Green Dabble paint is so thick and creamy, making it very easy to create beautiful landscapes & floral scenes. I'm on my second jar and would not use anything else!
Greens are not my favorite colors. However, this deep, luscious Phthalo Green working its way into my heart. All the Dabble Paints are a delight in a jar! I honestly enjoy simply looking at them. So creamy and thick, finally I may just be able to texture my paintings like Vincent’s.
I love that you can layer with this thick paint and it stays layered. It doesn't run or spread out like other acrylic paints. Its the best paint to work with.
I love the Let's Dabble paints. Aside from stocking up on my green paint, which I use in 95% of my paintings, I also stocked up on 9 other well loved and used colors. The paints are so creamy and are the perfect compliment to pallete knife painting. And right now for the holidays the added benefit of 25% off helps make the gift of giving art to friends and family so much easier. Thanks Jen and Matt for such a wonderful holiday present to all painters.
40 shades of green, that is what you can do with this special paint that stands alone or mixes so well with other creamy dabble paints , to create any shade you desire. I found myself using it up so quickly I already ordered more. Once I started using Dabble paint I just dont want to stop painting, so it goes faster as I am painting more. Needless to say, I love Dabble Paints .
I wanted to add a video to my review of my last three orders from Let’s Dabble Paint from Jen Vrane. I have found that they are one of the best paints out there since Let’s Dabble launched their line of paints. They maintained their creaminess throughout their life and the colors stay true. No doubt, this is the best acrylic paints I’ve ever used. They are so creamy that as you cover your canvas with each color, they blend and move to a beautiful finish. Thank you
