Your hands already know how to do this.
No drawing skills needed for this one. There is no sketching and no pencil.
You scoop up thick paint with a palette knife and press it onto the card. One small dab, then another over the top of it. The tree builds itself out of the dabs. That is the whole technique, and it is the same one I use on work that hangs in galleries.
Your hands have been making beautiful things your whole life. This is simply the next beautiful thing they were always meant to make.
You don't need to find your inner artist. She's already there.

The lesson is filmed start to finish, from a blank card to a signed one. You see every layer go down, in real time, from my side of the table. Nothing is sped up and nothing is cut.
Pause it. Rewind it. Paint the whole thing in one sitting or come back to it next week. It is yours to keep, so there is no rush and no clock.
Why a card and not a canvas.
I could have started you on a big canvas. I did not, on purpose.
A card is small enough to finish. You sit down after lunch and by the time you get up there is a finished thing on the table with your initials in the corner. That matters more than size does, the first time.
And then there is what happens to it. You give it to somebody. It goes in a drawer, and it stays there. Most cards get thrown out the week after. The ones somebody made by hand do not.
Paint the first one for yourself. You will know what to do with the other nine.

I have never painted anything. Is this really for me?
Yes. That is who it was built for. No drawing skills needed for this one, and the palette knife is the most forgiving tool there is.
Do I need anything that is not in the box?
Water, a paper towel, and a flat surface.
How long do I have the lesson?
It is yours to keep.
What if it does not turn out?
Reply to any email from me and I will sort it out personally. A refund, or a different kit, whatever makes it right. No forms.
Can I paint it more than once?
Yes. There are ten cards in the box and enough paint for many more. A lot of people paint the first one for practice and the second one for somebody.
